Our Story

About Josh:

Josh describes himself as "debonair" and a "huge dork." Josh is a social studies teacher at an alternative high school. He has his B.A. in Social Studies Teaching from the University of Northern Iowa. He enjoys playing/watching sports, grilling, being outside, and he's a diehard St. Louis Cardinals fan.

About Erika:

Erika describes herself as an "organizational nerd" and "travel freak." Erika is an executive assistant at a community college. She has a B.A. in Leisure, Youth and Human Services from the University of Northern Iowa. Her hobbies include traveling, hiking, couponing, and trying out new recipes.






Our Life Together:
We met while attending the University of Northern Iowa during a training program for Camp Adventure Youth Services - a program that sends college students all over the world to run day camps for children of military personnel. During training, we were involved in a skit together that had us wear penguin costumes and dance to the Y.M.C.A. in front of hundreds of people! After that, it only took Josh a week before he asked Erika to be his girlfriend. 

We dated for one year, were engaged for one year, and then got married on May 23, 2009.

We love traveling the world together, hiking, reading, play with our dog Toby. We attend the Vineyard Church and host a weekly small group Bible study in our home.
